There are many scanning options available. You can scan books and documents at the library copier/scanner or the book scanner. There are also a lot of scanning apps you can download to your mobile device which allows you to scan documents and books from the convenience of your own home. The Wirecutter did a review of scanning apps and has determined that Adobe Scan is the best app for most people.
Please remember to abide by copyright rules when scanning. The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. The following page (click on the Copyright tab) has some general information and helpful resources on copyright: https://libguides.vanguard.edu/c.php?g=191427&p=7751027 .
